On May 6, the DLE will launch a new platform for our enthusiastic members to talk about their experiences as members and about participating in programs.
“Membership Spotlight” features short, personalized videos (one to two minutes in length), with members recalling how they joined the DLE and the positive impacts that have resulted. Videos will appear on the DLE social platforms.
Produced by DLE Intern Olivia Moen, the videos have some common themes emerging:
COMMUNITY: There’s agreement that the close-knit DLE community is something that makes being a member worthwhile. The DLE is a community of caring people who live very different lives, both personally and professionally. When brought together, these individuals create an environment that is welcoming, motivating and inspiring. Members note that this sense of community makes them feel accepted, creates a safe environment to speak up and provides an outlet to connect with others who understand their individual journeys.
NETWORKING: The DLE revolves around learning experiences and networking connections for career and personal growth. Our members recognize that the DLE is committed to fulfill that mission. Through events such as our Culture Chats and Breakfast Clubs, our members have the opportunity to interact in a small, intimate group where they can foster genuine connections, receive valuable advice, pursue introductions and learn about opportunities for career growth.
DIVERSITY: Members value the unparalleled diversity of the community. Unlike most professional organizations that align with a specific industry or gender or experience level, the DLE is expansive in its membership. That diversity elevates new perspectives and mindsets, which members agree stretches their thinking and grows their knowledge. Embracing what makes our members different is what ultimately brings our community together and is the secret to creating a safe environment where everyone has access to opportunities.
